This year in 2009 we have bred 2 of our 3 females. E Litter (Arrived: April 22, 2009) Six Puppies: 3 male, 3 female Males: 2 solid black, 1 black and tan This was a breeding between Valory von Narnia (Libby) and Sunshadows Bravo. Bravo is to be titled this spring or summer. Sunshadows owners have this to say about him: He is a Tell son very dark black and tan that carries the black recessive. He is a super dog. He was born on June 27, '05 and now weighs about 85 lbs. He is extremely strong in temperament and reminds us of a super dog who sired Bravo's line, Sabre. There is no dog we have who wants to work more than he does. E Litter Sire: SUNSHADOWS BRAVO
F Litter The "F" Litter will be due May 23rd, 2009, with puppies available for adoption July 11th. This pregnancy is not confirmed. This was a breeding between Bailey von Cey and Sunshadows Blake. We will post his pedigree and picture once pregnancy is confirmed.

| Puppies are so cute and add a lot of joy to a family. They can also be extremely frustrating, time consuming and costly. Sometimes it is better to find an adult dog at a rescue than to begin the arduous task of raising a pup. Here are some of the questions that we ask of those interested in a pup from our kennel; -Why did you choose this breed? How well do you know the GSD breed? Have you previously owned a GSD? any other breed? Are there children in the home? other dogs? cats? Have you ever had to "get rid" of a dog? How did you go about this? What kind of formal or informal training would you be willing to do with this pup? do you have a fenced yard? will the pup/dog live in the house or outdoors? how will you socialize the pup?what do you think about crate training for puppies/dogs? |

We like to keep in touch with all of those who purchase puppies from our kennel. It benefits our kennel to gather information on the continued health of each dog. This helps us to determine strengths or deficits within our lines. Each year we send out a survey to track problems with ears, eyes, skin, joints, temperament, aggression (towards people or other dogs), sound sensitivities and allergies. Of course, we also need to gather information on all of the positive characteristics and traits that are emerging.

All puppies are sold on a non-breeding agreement. If you are a person who intends to use this dog for breeding, then at 2 years of age, when the dog has passed all of the health certifications for elbows, hips and eyes, and is able to demonstrate a stable temperament we will lift the non-breeding agreement. All other puppies are expected to be spayed or neutered as soon as your veterinarian recommends it, in order to access the health benefits that come with early spay/neutering. We practice the 6 exercises developed by the US Military in the "Super
Dog Program" that were designed and tested to stimulate the neurological
systems of puppies at an early age. Studies show that the benefits of
this include: improved cardio vascular performance, stronger heart
beats, stronger adrenal glands, To read more about it, check out the following link:http://www.breedingbetterdogs.com/achiever.html

Crate Training All of our dogs are crate trained. It gives us great peace of mind to have a safe way to transport our dog, or a safe place to house them at times that we can't have them out and about. Most of them do fight it somewhat initially, but they end up enjoying their "den" and often prefer to be in it. We place a crate in their whelping shed about the 3rd or 4th week. The puppies get used to going in and out of it and sleeping in it. The door is left off. We encourage all of our families/individuals that adopt a puppy to take advantage of this wonderful training/security tool. Sometimes it helps to send the puppies off with a familiar article in the crate, which has the smells of the litter on it. Here are some very good reads about this issue: http://www.cuhumane.org/topics/crate.html
